New Skilled Nursing
Facility Completed At
Norwegian Christian Home
And Health Center

BROOKLYN, New York – All residents of the skilled nursing facility, and the staff that attends them, are now relocated to the building recently constructed at Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center.
“Considering our 100-year history here in Brooklyn,” explained executive director Michael Doherty, “we always seem to be involved in major facilities construction and renovation. Right now, with the skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation programs situated in brand new quarters, we’re completing a total refurbishing of the structure that used to house them.”
The “old” building, which carries the official address of
1270 – 67th Street, dates from 1973. When the reconstruction is finished, it will house apartments for adult residents and an assisted living facility. The work is on schedule for completion by July 1st of this year.
“We are well on the way towards realizing our intention to offer a complete continuum of care, in beautiful state-of-the-art facilities, right here in Brooklyn,” said Doherty. “This great city is home to many families that wish to have their loved ones close at hand, easy to visit and enjoying familiar surroundings. We look forward to inaugurating the final link in our continuum of care, adult day care.”
Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center is committed to providing the best possible care for all in need, regardless of ethnicity or disability. The name reflects their heritage, but the staff and those served come from many backgrounds and religions. And they rededicate themselves each day to providing the most professional and compassionate care possible.
